Map of Greenland

Received on 28th of May, 2019. Thanks to dear friend Frank Fix from Germany. The post card has a interesting story behind. The post card was sent in an envelope to the local post office in Greenland for postmarking and than sending to me as Frank was not visiting Greenland personally. The postal clerk somehow did not understood what was being request and sent the card again in an envelope back to the Frank after postmarking it, who upon receiving the same, sent me in an envelope from Germany. This was really a long swap with giving extra burden on Frank both monetarily and time wise. It finally reach me after a period of 3 months and 11 days.  

Cathedral of Nuuk City

Nuuk Cathedral or Church of Our Saviour is a wooden Lutheran cathedral in the Old Nuuk neighborhood of Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. It was established in 1849. The red building with its spire is a prominent site on the landscape. During National Day celebrations, large crowds usually gather around the church.

Nuuk City during northern lights

Nuuk is the capital and largest city of Greenland and the municipality of Sermersooq. It is the seat of government and the country's largest cultural and economic centre. The major cities closest to the capital are Iqaluit and St. John's in Canada and Reykjavík in Iceland. Nuuk contains almost a third of Greenland's population and its tallest building. Nuuk is the seat of government for the Sermersooq municipality. In January 2016, it had a population of 17,316.

Native Girl of Greenland

West Greenlandic clothing: The West Greenlandic outfit for the women is very colorful. They use sealskin for the kamiks, as well as embroidery and dyed sealskin leather, cut into small pieces, called avittat. Avittat are pieces of dyed sealskin leather, cut into small strips and sewn together into beautiful designs.

Glacier

Sent by my elder brother Mr. Zulfiqar Ali from the Philatelic bureau counter of Greenland Post at the World Stamp Show New York 2016. The philatelic bureau office later sent the card from Greenland.
